Rebirth; Traversing the Dark Night of the Soul depicts the metamorphic journey through darkness that happens when everything that was your life falls away.

 

After years of working with people who are recovering from narcissistic abuse I saw a pattern. The same kind of process was happening with the majority of my clients.

There was the initial shock, the break down, the overwhelming emotional states, a lack of will to live, a fear one is going crazy, mass confusion, hopelessness and despair.

I began to see the process of breaking down as similar to the metamorphosis of a butterfly. Although it appears as though we are dying; we are really in the process of reconstruction, or rebirth.

But before one can be reborn s/he must die to the old; shed the skins and surrender to the process. The process of disassembling can be terrifying. This is why you need a roadmap. It can be much easier to go through the darkness when you have a sense of what is happening and have tools to help you get through the most challenging parts. That is why I wrote this book; to help you to get through the most challenging journey; possibly of a lifetime.

Rebirth; Traversing the Dark Night of the Soul will give you the tools to navigate through possibly one of the darkest times of your life and help you to find the positive in what may seem to be a hopeless situation. It will show you the light at the end of the tunnel and give you the courage to walk into that tunnel, even when you can’t see what is up ahead.

I have taken this journey, more than once. I’ve gone through three Dark Night of the Soul’s and each time I wasn’t sure I was going to survive it. However the last time I went through a Dark Night, I did so consciously. This means I was fully aware of what was happening. This time I had the roadmap. I had a name for what I was going through. The good news is, I knew at the end of the journey a new life awaited me. And a new life awaits you too.

This book is my story and it is your story. It is the story of those of us who have the courage to surrender to the process of death, symbolic death, so that we can be reborn. Reading your book brought back so many of the special conversations we had and how you helped me during my darkest hour.
