Today I finally got a big piece of the puzzle that I have been trying to put together for some time. I realize that the biggest challenge to stepping fully into our authentic selves is dispelling the forces of darkness in our lives. Darkness truly is a force and it works through people. The more unconscious one is the more they are channels for the dark energies. Of course we often go between consciousness and unconsciousness. We can all have moments of unconsciousness. We can have moments where we take some action that is out of integrity or out of character for who we are striving to be. These are times where we can recognize just how easy it is to allow the forces of darkness to take root.
If I could live by one rule; one spiritual law in my life it would be the Golden Rule; “Treat Others As You Want To Be Treated!” If I find myself treating someone with less respect, less love, less compassion or less kindness than I would want in a particular situation than I am not fully living my truth. The other side of the coin is “Expect Others to Treat You as You Would Treat Them!” This means that we also pay attention to how we are being treated by others.
As we begin to rise up in our lives, have true success, and become more visible we can easily become targets for those who feel jealous, threatened or intimidated by us. When one embodies these feelings he or she can lash out in attack in attempt to control us, to interfere with our success, and bring us down. I know for myself I have had lots of lessons in dealing with these forces of darkness. The more I dare to peak my head out, to use my voice and speak my truth the more I find myself in confronted by someone else s efforts to devalue, diminish or control me in some way. When I first arrived in Sedona, I got a massage, laid on a crystal bed and used the Edgar Cayce Castor Oil pack on my belly attempting to soothe the pain for eating something that didn’t agree with me. Being that I’ve been on raw food for over a month I was thinking I might have eaten something that wasn’t raw without realizing it. The next day instead of feeling better I felt worse. So I stayed in the Condo and rested. It felt that my trip was getting off to a poor start but when I conducted my weekly support group Wednesday night I found myself suggesting to one of the women that she be willing to be right where she was. I knew that meant me! I needed to be willing to put aside my agenda, my plans and just be still.
I took a client into the red rocks for a session that was a little out of the ordinary from what I normally do, yet very powerful. We talked about the issues while hiking several miles in and then found a place to sit and go a little deeper into the issues. I found myself guided to have her throwing rocks off the cliff edge we were perched over and shouting “ENOUGH” from the top of her lungs. When we reach that point where we are really fed up with our life the way it is and ready for a change, we have to be willing to declare that we’ve had enough of whatever is plaguing us. The word “Enough” was a big part of Bradley Falks work, whom I recently interviewed on the radio. The act of throwing something symbolic like a rock into the canyon and listening to our voices echo off the canyon wall was pretty powerful. We moved a lot of energy up there above that canyon. We also did a chord cutting and soul retrieval process. The session itself lasted about two and a half hours altogether and I really enjoyed this longer process. I wished I could take all of my clients deep into the forest like this; deep into nature where I could bring them in touch with that part of themselves that was truly ready to let go and move forward. Nature is such a powerful facilitator. It reminds us who we are! Read the rest of this entry »
